Having a well-defined objective is very crucial for any start-ups marketing strategy.

An important step towards creating a successful marketingcampaign strategy for any business depends on its objective. You should be clear on your objective (what do you seek). As it helps to strategize the roadmap to effectively channelize your marketing efforts towards that goal.

As a Business Development professional, I still see startups failing to have the right objective when it comes to their product/service. Do not enter the market with a one-size-fits all approach. Assuming the customers will automatically recognize the value of your product. This shall be like underestimating your sales & marketing efforts. 

Though your end goal would be sales, but there are defined steps to reach that goal.
